Joey.Spl (b. 1982, Singapore) is a Singapore-based artist. She began her artistic journey with self-inquiry into the relation between mind-brain-body. From where do thoughts come? How does one know what they know? Joey carefully curates her works to engender mind shifts. Her works are, above all, momentary contemplative spaces.
From her early practicing days her contemplations led her to project her thoughts into form, materialised as sculptures, art that is ‘physical’, tangible, and unreserved. Her artistic journey would see her style evolve towards the intangible, subtle, and ephemeral - guiding audiences to perceive experiences by facilitating epiphanies.
Joey is also currently an Arts educator with Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (2010 -) and have been developing the New Media Art studies since 2016.
